Code of Conduct

1. Respect & Inclusivity

• Treat all participants, mentors, organizers, and sponsors with respect, regardless of gender, age, sexual orientation, disability, race, religion, or background.
• Harassment, discrimination, or offensive behavior in any form (verbal, written, physical, or online) will not be tolerated.
• Respect different viewpoints and constructive discussions.

2. Fair Participation

• All work submitted must be the team’s original work developed during the hackathon. Plagiarism or submitting pre-existing projects is strictly prohibited.
• Teams must adhere to the project submission guidelines and deadlines communicated by organizers.
• Teams may use open-source libraries, frameworks, and publicly available APIs provided they comply with their respective licenses.

3. Intellectual Property (IP) Rights

• Each team retains ownership of the intellectual property (IP) rights to their submissions.
• By participating, you grant TechXNinjas and sponsors a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to showcase your project for promotional, educational, and reporting purposes.
• You are responsible for ensuring that your work does not infringe on any third-party rights, patents, or copyrights.

4. Data Privacy & Confidentiality

• Any personal data shared with organizers will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws. Data will be strictly confidential to the organiser & Unstop only.
• If needed for prize fulfillment, relevant data may be shared with sponsors for the sole purpose of providing access to prizes and rewards.
• Participants must not misuse or disclose confidential information of organizers, sponsors, or other teams.

5. Use of Sponsorship Tools & APIs

• If sponsors provide tools, credits, or APIs, participants must follow their respective terms of service, privacy policies, and usage guidelines.
• Any misuse of provided tools will result in disqualification.

6. Prohibited Conduct

• Harassment (sexual, verbal, physical, or digital) of any form.
• Use of offensive or inappropriate content in team names, submissions, or communication.
• Cheating, sabotage, or interfering with another team’s project or work.
• Use of alcohol, drugs, or any illegal substances at the venue.
• Damage to venue property, equipment, or any other resources.

7. Health, Safety & Security

• Participants must follow all safety guidelines at the venue.
• Emergency exits and procedures will be shared and must be respected.
• Any violation of security or safety protocols will result in immediate removal.

8. Food & Accommodation

• Food and refreshments provided by organizers/sponsors are to be consumed responsibly.
• Participants are expected to maintain cleanliness and hygiene at all times.

9. Judging & Awards

• The decision of the jury is final and binding.
• Any attempt to influence judges or manipulate results will lead to immediate disqualification.
• Prizes are non-transferable and will be distributed as per the announced criteria.

10. Legal Disclaimer

• TechXNinjas, organizers, and sponsors are not responsible for any direct, indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising during participation.
• By participating, you agree to indemnify and hold harmless the organizers, sponsors, and venue providers against any claims, damages, or liabilities.
• Organizers reserve the right to make changes to event rules, schedules, and guidelines, and participants will be informed in advance.

11. Enforcement

• Any violation of this Code of Conduct may result in disqualification, removal from the venue, or permanent ban from future TechXNinjas events.
• Organizers’ decisions on Code of Conduct violations are final.
